This report provides estimates of the unauthorized immigrant population living in the United States. It includes breakdowns by period of entry, region and country of origin, state of residence, age, and sex.
Unauthorized immigrants are not authorized to be in the country. Most entered the country without inspection or were temporary residents who stayed past the date they were required to leave.
As some terminology in reports do change, we maintain previously posted reports and datasets as originally approved and published.
