COVID-19 Vulnerability by Immigration Status

Foreign-born aliens in the United States have different COVID-19 vulnerabilities and outreach requirements than the U.S.-born population. This report presents population estimates by four categories of immigration status – lawful permanent residents (LPRs), resident nonimmigrants, refugees and asylees, and unauthorized aliens – and addresses elevated COVID-19 risk to the alien population as well as status-specific risk factors and demographic profiles for each status group.

As some terminology in reports do change, we maintain previously posted reports and datasets as originally approved and published.
